API Security in Web3

In this lightning talk, Daniel Anomfueme (Technical Project Manager & Web3 tinkerer) unpacks the critical importance of API security in decentralized applications. While blockchains themselves may be secure, the APIs that connect wallets, dApps, and bridges often become the weakest, and most exposed, attack surface.

Daniel walks through real-world Web3 hacks including the Ronin Bridge exploit ($625M), Harmony Bridge ($100M+), and Bybit Safe API compromise, showing how attackers exploited unsecured endpoints, exposed keys, and weak access controls.

The talk identifies common Web3 API threats such as leaked keys, replay attacks, insecure CORS, rate-limit bypasses, and trusted misuse. Daniel then shares practical defenses, from wallet-based authentication (SIWE) to scoped/rotated API keys, JWT/OAuth2 enforcement, rate limiting, and active monitoring for leaks.

For builders, security researchers, and anyone working in Web3 infrastructure, this session is a concise but powerful guide to protecting APIs, the true firewall of decentralized systems.

Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) Revolutionizing Healthcare: Exploring the Impact of DeSci DAOs on Healthcare

In this talk, Daniel Anomfueme (Contributor at VitaDAO and Founder of DeSci Africa) examines how blockchain-powered DAOs are redefining the future of healthcare. Moving beyond buzzwords, Daniel explains how decentralized governance, tokenized funding, and immutable transparency enable new models for scientific research and medical innovation.

Through case studies like AthenaDAO (women’s health) and ValleyDAO (synthetic biology), the presentation shows how blockchain-native communities are already deploying millions of dollars into cutting-edge projects.

The session also highlights opportunities for Africa to leapfrog traditional healthcare systems by leveraging decentralized networks, while addressing the challenges of adoption, regulation, and data privacy.

This is a must-watch for anyone interested in how blockchain, DAOs, and DeSci converge to create global, open, and community-owned healthcare solutions.

DeSci: Web3 and the Future of Scientific Collaboration

In this talk, Daniel Anomfueme (Contributor at VitaDAO and Founder of DeSci Africa) explores how Web3 technologies are reshaping the way science is conducted, funded, and shared. The session introduces Decentralized Science (DeSci), a movement focused on open access, transparency, and collaboration in research.

Daniel highlights the challenges of traditional science: centralized funding, publication paywalls, and limited data sharing, and presents how blockchain, DAOs, and tokenization can unlock new models for funding, publishing, and collaboration. Real-world examples like LabDAO, and ResearchHub showcase DeSci in action.

Looking ahead, the talk envisions a future where science is more inclusive, democratized, and globally collaborative, while also addressing the cultural, governance, and regulatory challenges DeSci must overcome.

If you’re passionate about open science, innovation, and the intersection of Web3 with research, this presentation will give you both inspiration and practical insights on how to get involved in building the future of science.
