    <title>Marcelo Ancelmo</title>
<description>Marcelo S. Ancelmo has 23 years (and counting) of IT experience and has done a bit (or would it be a byte) of everything. A good old-fashioned troublemaker, he started his professional career as a Java programmer, fell in love with architecture (a passion he still pursues today), dove into middleware (with no regrets), built high-performing teams, and explored infrastructure and operations.

What drives him? The never-ending puzzle of complex-adaptive systems and helping teams unlock their potential.

Deeply engaged in the tech community, Marcelo joins Meetups wherever he goes, teaming up with JUGs, helping organize events when time allows, and contributing to working groups and committees. Along the way, he’s delivered consulting, training, mentorship, and conference talks.

Today, he's Head of Solution Architecture at KPMG Switzerland, helping the company drive its digital transformation toward sustainable business agility, fueled by Architecture and DevOps, learning everything possible and enjoying the bumps along the ride.

When not wrestling with distributed systems or debating the merits of complex solutions, you'll probably find him with a coffee in hand and a headset on (yes, he is on a meeting).</description>

<title>AI Made Us Faster at Solving the Wrong Problems</title>
<description>Ignite talk presented at DevOpsDays Geneva 2026. The presentation breakdown is available at https://blog.marceloancelmo.com/page/speaking

Are we optimizing for speed, or are we just accelerating bad ideas?

In this 5-minute Ignite presentation, we break down the most dangerous habit of the Generative AI era: jumping to solutions before we actually understand the problem. This presentation focus on harnessing AI for effective problem solving, and moving beyond speed to understanding.

When someone says, "The AI says we just need to do X," and everyone blindly nods, you haven't innovated: You've just solved the wrong problem. This talk addresses how GenAI amplifies System 1 thinking and fuels the Dunning-Kruger effect. By understanding that while AI accelerates some decisions, it can mislead problem-solving efforts. It demostrates the value to shift from fast, confident decisions to a reflective understanding to solve the right problems effectively.

If you enjoyed these slides, please let me know at https://marceloancelmo.com. On my website, you can find for more insights on Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Enterprise Content Management, DevOps, Java, Performance Analysis, Risk Management, Team Building, Digital Transformation, Organizational Transformation, Technology Strategy, Technical Leadership, and the occasional war story from the trenches.
