  1. The importance of open source & sharing The Commons www.marijazaric.com

  2. The commons today is Internet With the internet came new

ways to share software, code, images, website themes, information… enabling the growth of the digital commons that we have today. People can share their ideas easily due to that possibility.
  3. Ideas are the driving force of human progress and the

    building blocks of creativity.
  4. I started as a freelance web designer back in the

2010. I created free html5 templates with the goal to share the knowledge, learn and attract potential international clients. Suddenly I felt like a great enthusiast, like I was not living any more in a shattered dimension. What is an enthusiasm?
  5. Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation, and a pinch of

creativity. Technology is the handmaiden of our creativity.
  6. People in poorly developed countries don’t have starting points like

others have in highly developed countries. Therefore strive for learning and persistence was my stepping stone to create something like this as an open source and as a way out spiritually. You have to be a relentless learner. Learning should be a lifelong endeavor, not just your current priority.
  7. An open source as the commons is building Internet in

a generous, knowledgeable and creative way. You have to be a relentless learner. Learning should be a lifelong endeavor, not just your current priority.
  8. In 2014 I started creating responsive Bootstrap themes which for

the last couple of years four of them are free to download and use. An Open source continued naturally to me in terms of web design. You can’t stop that. It goes with the flow.
  9. The commons is not about the profit, rather it is

about people and the community, the persistence and dedication. It is a philosophy.
  10. My voyage through wonders and inspiration continued. The desire to

create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul. We are all gifted.
  11. In 2017 I found online a great photography website called

Unsplash and started to take shots. That is actually the movement of the open photography. With being open in photography, photography as an art becomes available for a wider audience across the world not just for the galleries and institutions.
  12. As technology improves, a question arises: How better can we

be as humans? Fortunately, with the digital commons you can leave your footprint in a compassionate way.
  13. Technology with good people must bring compassion, the willingness to

help others. Compassion brings us to a stop, and for a moment we rise above ourselves. Isn’t that the goal of all of us in life? With the digital commons we already have an advances in discoveries. Therefore, WE BECOME EXPLORERS.
  14. Challenge yourself to evolve, innovate and experiment. Internet has to

continue to grow in that direction in the future and we also have to thank to so many people who helped us to start learning with their themes, platforms, codes, images that they gave us generously.
  15. To be creative to me is to be free, to

express yourself, your ideas and to be compassionate, to motivate, so start contributing, sharing, learning, respecting and don’t forget to laugh. Humor is a kind of superfood. It connects us all. Live to the rhythm. Many thanks!
