Productivity Bots

Bots are cool! They are fun to write, and when done correctly can have a significant boost to productivity. At Pushpay we rely heavily on bots to aid with our continuous delivery, and the result has been an overall increase in productivity even during the periods where delivery traditionally slows down.

I will take you on a tour of the bots that we have created at Pushpay, and show how they've evolved over time. I will discuss some of the mistakes we've made along the way, along with our successes. I will show how to get started should you wish to create one yourself.

Moving Fast (Without Crashing)

Pushpay operates in the payments industry so we are very risk adverse, yet we are able to deploy to production up to a dozen times per day.

This talk will discuss the culture that enables this, and the tools and processes that have been built over time to support our fast pace. We will show how we can maintain a high quality codebase that has minimal technical debt, while simultaneously growing the team by over 800% in the last 2 years. Finally we will explain how our culture helps support us in those rare instances when something does go wrong.

At Pushpay we deploy to production up to a dozen times a day. This talk will explain how we can do that consistently, and how we can maintain a high quality codebase with minimal technical debt. We will discuss the culture that enables this, and that helps us easily recover when things do go wrong.
