Promoting IIR's research activities and collaboration with companies With the mission of creating new research ﹙elds, promoting interdisciplinary research, solving the problems of human society, and fostering the foundation for future industries, the IIR’s Industry-academia Collaboration strives to promote joint research on speci﹙c issues faced by society and businesses, and to create long-lasting organization-to-organization joint research and partnerships (Collaborative Research Clusters, Collaborative Research Programs, etc.) that focus on larger-scale themes. The IIR will serve as a gateway connecting IIR faculty members active in a wide range of research ﹙elds with industry, and as a springboard for the development of individual research into large-scale projects.
