Current status and future improvement of the terrestrial broadcasting service based on ATSC 3.0 standard in Korea 2020.12.23. 13:25~13:45 Sungho Jeon, Ph.D. UHD Master Control Room Media Platform Department Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) It has been almost 4 years since Korea started terrestrial UHD main broadcasting based on ATSC 3.0 standard in May 2017. Currently, various technologies are being developed utilizing the multi-channel, mobile, and interactive features of the ATSC 3.0 standard. Also, various service models are created through the connection between ATSC 3.0 broadcasting and 5G communication networks, and a project to demonstrate them is being promoted in Jeju Island. Based on this, I would like to discuss the future direction of Korea’s service development.
