About Dire Dryer Dire Dryer is the story of an a scared little girl who has to rescue her Blankie from the clutches of the dryer. It’s a celebration of childhood imagination. Particularly, the idea that to a little kid in the dark, something as ordinary as a pile of laundry can become a monster. It’s nostalgic, fun, and heartwarming. It didn’t take very long for us to fall in love with the process of creating Dire Dryer. It was something that resonated with all of the crew, growing up with early 2000’s memorabilia, cartoons, and direct-to-DVD spinoffs. It’s something so nostalgic and inherently different from student films of years past, functioning almost like a time capsule into our collective childhood memories. Something we could all put a part of ourselves into, see ourselves in. We were all small children once, afraid of the dark at some point or another. -Samantha Zielinski

Logline: Synopsis: An anxious little girl named Lynn N. must rescue her Blankie from the clutches of the dryer before sunrise. In this action adventure romp, Lynn N. must ward off living laundry monsters as she races to rescue her precious Blankie from the evil clutches of the Dryer. It is a love letter to the revitalized-UPA style of animation from the late 90's to early 2000's children's cartoons, while utilizing a unique, hybrid approach with 2D and 3D animation blended in a graphic, punchy style.

Samantha Zielinski As art director and co-director, Sam’s primary focus is to annoy Genevieve with bad designs, argue on color palettes, and know how to draw Lynn N. Sam has also gotten their grubby fingers into 2D animation, visual development, and compositing. Genevieve Gonzalez Genevieve’s primary focus as the director is to annoy Sam with draw-overs, color tweaks, and quality concerns. They wrote the script and put the world of Dire Dryer to the page. Zane Finnegan-Lenderman The man behind the management, Zane is in charge of organization, scheduling, recording, note taking, finding extra help, and checking in on the team’s individual progress. He is also a dedicated 2D animator, visual development artist, and compositor. MEET THE LEADS

Alex Causey Alex is our 2D Animation Lead! Keeping track of animation progress, giving animation feedback and making sure we make everything move on time! Despite ToonBoom’s evil ways… Carlos Duarte Name's Carlos, the 3D Animation Lead. When I first met my team, I was not expecting to be the one to walk out of the room that day being the 3D lead of the film. I just had to step to the occasion, and it was a learning opportunity on what it's like to point a group of people onward to a deadline. Emily Marcelis As the film’s Technical Lead Emily has been in charge of a wide variety of tasks such as models, rigs, textures, and lighting that were needed to bring the 3D elements of this film to life. Of course with so many moving parts that were essential to the look of this film, she spent just as much of her time creating assets as fixing issues that arose. MEET THE LEADS
