#2024ReSAKSS #2024ATOR eAtlas Concept • ReSAKSS website makes available data, in particular those related to the CAADP Indicator - but not disaggregated at sub national level • Therefore, ReSAKSS Country eAtlases (RCeA) were developed as a core tool of the SAKSS platforms to map highly disaggregated data on agricultural, socio- economic, and biophysical indicators into a centralized and highly interactive system. • It is a GIS-based data exploration platform that can help policy analysts and policy makers access and use data at subnational levels to guide agricultural policy and investment decisions

#2024ReSAKSS #2024ATOR First phase of RCeA •In collaboration with the country SAKSS platforms, eAtlases have been developed for 26 countries during the 1st phase. • National workshops were organized in more than a dozen countries to review the underlying data and provide training to country stakeholders on how to manage the tool and data.

AKADEMIYA2063 only maintains the platform technically and facilitates the data flow. •Itis usually hosted at the Ministry of Agriculture of the country with a designated coordinator. •Exclusive administrator access to the country e- Atlas is granted solely to the coordinator, supposed to centralize the datasets coming from different ministries and agencies

#2024ReSAKSS #2024ATOR First phase of RCeA •RCeA databases were used to implement the “Spatial Typology Framework for Food and Nutrition Security” in selected West African countries including Burkina Faso and Senegal. The disaggregated data at 2nd administrative level allowed to identify specific strategies for different disctricts in a country, avoiding generalizing strategies for districts with different problems and constraints.

#2024ReSAKSS #2024ATOR Revamping of RCeA •Given that countries are not updating their data regularly, AKADEMIYA2063 is undertking a revamping of RceA and extending the network. •Contracts were signed with countries to establish or re vitalize a working group in charge of eAtlas and hire short-term consultants to collect country public data, perform data cleaning, and populate it on the country eAtlas.

#2024ReSAKSS #2024ATOR Revamping of RCeA •The 26 countries of the first phase and LAN countries without eAtlas were targeted •After the national consultants were identified and the national eAtlas team remobilized in some countries, an online training was organized, one for Francophone and another one for Anglophone countries

#2024ReSAKSS #2024ATOR Conclusion •The implementation of the “Spatial Typology Framework for Food and Nutrition Security” is a good exemple of potential use of RCeA • Countries have to show more interest on the tool in regularly up dating the datasets and making use of them • This forum should be an opportunity for countries to exchange experience and learn one from another to address the challenges
