Problems in Japan’s Network field • Shortage of young NW engineers • The popularity of applications and cloud services is increasing • However, the demand for NW is also growing • AI Platform, Streaming Service, …… • Few opportunities to learn operations in a production environment • Many people are interested in the NW technology, but … • Even if they have NW knowledge, • No environment to use them • Even if they have technical skills, • No connection points • No knowledge how to be allocated resources • →I think these problems are reducing interest in the NW/Internet field • → For them, We aim to provide a playground of NW

Benefits of Learning/Research ASN • AS operational experience and knowledge • interest in the Internet, especially for young people • As a member of the Internet community, they can contribute to the Internet • New communities are being formed, leading to the development of the industry • It can also bring new perspectives to existing communities, creating a positive impact • By increasing the number of Learning/Research ASNs, we might be able to attract more young people to take an interest in the industry

Slide 15

Slide 15 text

Our Future • Continue to actively contribute as a member of the Internet community • Establish a presence in the Asia region and contribute to the development of the Internet in Asia. • Collaborate with organizations in Asia engaged in similar activities to increase the number of Learning/Research ASN.

Slide 16

Slide 16 text

Conclusion • I introduced the challenges and initiatives related to engineer development. • As one example, I explained the usefulness of Learning/Research ASN. • We will continue to contribute to the development of the Internet as a member of the Internet community.
