What’s this whole native vs web thing? 

native app (noun) an application created with the operating system’s core technologies 

web app (noun) an application created with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript 

Who cares? 

You should. Duh. 

Do you want to make the most awesome app possible? 

I hope you answered yes. If you didn’t, please sit there quietly the rest of the session or get up and leave because I am talking about making something awesome and not something lame. I’m sure there is something else to do besides sit here and learn about awesome if that’s not your thing, but seriously why wouldn’t it be. Seriously. 

Native apps have a better user experience than web apps.

Camera, Photo Library, Bluetooth, Custom Movie Player, Advanced Networking, Push Notifications, Accelerometer, Address Book, Calendar, Maps, Text Messaging, Email Composing, Advanced Animation, OpenGL, OpenAL, Game Center, Compass, Gyroscope, Advanced Audio, Multitasking, Multithreading, File System 

They’ll always be behind 

Why not native? 

Big learning curve 

Developers are expensive 

Reusability 

Why reuse something that isn’t awesome? 

Build a native app. It’s worth it.
