Write a Plan Session Plan: Title: Your presentation sucks Summary: Most presentations suck, yours probably does too. This talk will help you make your presentation memorable so that people aren’t talking about how crappy you were, but how awesome your sauce is. Session Objectives: 1.Outline the problem 2.Talk about a solution Audience Participation: • Show of hands, who has experienced crappy talkitis? 6

Slide 7

Slide 7 text

Why an outline? • A one sentence summary focuses your talk • Bullet points let you figure out your segments • How do you engage your audience? 7

Break It Down Session Outline: 0 min - 10 min: Spotting a Bad Presentation in the Wild Bad presentations can be identified by four key behaviors. 1: Bad info, 2: Poor delivery, 3: Crappy presentations, 4: Nothing memorable. Look at some examples. 10 min - 20 min: Old and Busted to New Hotness We break a bad presentation down into its component parts and make it good. 20 min - 30 min: Q&A Ask the audience to tell you about a great presentation. 8
