It allows us to freely use tools that aren't otherwise available. Knowing how important this is, we are often looking for open source projects to work on. Like many developers, my teammates and I are often exploring Github in search of ways to give back to this awesome community. We get frustrated when we find ourselves clicking around aimlessly in search a repo that is going to fit our interests, push our skill level, and most certainly where we feel we can make the greatest impact. Welcome Gitbo aggregates public issues from Github and ranks them based on a popularity algorithm so developers can easily find projects to make significant contributions. Gitbo provides a layer that sits on top of Github issues to guide developers on deciding where to fork and commit. It does this by utilizing Hacker News style up-voting as well as crowd-funding through monetary bounties placed on issues by repo owners; or others wanting to see an issue patched. By offering a platform for developers to easily find, and hack on the important issues, Gitbo helps strengthen the open source community as well as the skills of the individual developer.
