Slide 5 text

MapStore in Nordiq • We have been using MapStore since 2020, but over the last couple of years we have invested heavily in development of a ”Danish version” of MapStore – Translation – Plugins for the public sector – Integration to Danish services • We see an opening in the market, where there is already a big use of open-source GIS software • We released our first version of MapStore in September and now have 3 Danish municipalities using MapStore as there main GIS tool for case working

Fact sheet about Denmark Small country in the northern part of Europe • Around 6 million people • 98 municipalities • 42.394 square km • 8.750 km coastline (longer than India) • We have a big public sector – Many laws – Totally over registered (in GIS terms)

Slide 8

Slide 8 text

SDI in Denmark • Free and open data from 2013 – Basic data (parcels, persons, property, companies, heights, land use, …) – Planning data – Environmental data – Meteorological data – … • Many data sources are centralized in national wide databases and are maintained by public institutions (governmental agencies, municipalities or regions) • Over 2000 free public WMS/WFS services (OGC standards are a huge success) • All big public agencies are providing different GIS services

Case 1: Buildingcase

Slide 11

Slide 11 text

Case 1: Building case • We are now a caseworker in a Danish municipality “Albertslund” • We have got a building application from the owner of the property located at the address “Herstedøstergade 2, 2600 Albertslund” • The owner wants to replace the old house with a new one, located in a different place on the parcel • The owner has sent information and plans for the new building and the process

Slide 12

Slide 12 text

Search for the address • First, we locate the address using the search tool • Search have been integrated into the Danish national search service (GSearch) and Septima Search

Slide 13

Slide 13 text

Investigation of the property • Choose the EJD tool • Point out the property on the map • See property information

Slide 14

Slide 14 text

Property information • Gives information about – Property and subproperties (eg. main building and all the apartments) • Owner name, property ID, owners address, owner relations, ownerpart, … – Parcels • Name, cadastral district, Area, Parcel ID, … – Addresses • Roadname, number, road code, zip code, … – People • Name, age, gender, address, address protection, social security number, …

Slide 15

Slide 15 text

Further investigation • See oblique photos • See in google street view or Cowi streetview

Slide 16

Slide 16 text

Regulation control • In Denmark there are a lots of regulations, laws and so on… • I will take a few of them here in this short demo – Church building lines (Kirkebyggelinjer) – Forrest building lines (skovbyggelinjer) – Local development plans – Development area (within a local development plan)

Slide 17

Slide 17 text

GeometrySearch Plugin for generating reports • Used by case workers to support decisions, based on geodata • Finds layers/features that intersects a search geometry (in this case our parcel) • Create a report with the results • Easy to maintain by a special map type

Slide 18

Slide 18 text

GeometrySearch • Select tool:

Slide 19

Slide 19 text

GeometrySearch • Select from drop down:

Slide 20

Slide 20 text

GeometrySearch • Chose to draw or pick geometries from existing layers

Slide 21

Slide 21 text

Draw Geometry • Draw point, line, polygon

Slide 22

Slide 22 text

Pick geometry from layers • Picks from layers that are visible (and searchable) • Merges geometries to a single geometry • From the list it is possible to delete features

Slide 23

Slide 23 text

Preview • Preview of data • List of layers: – With hits – Without hits – Errors • Filter result • Create report

Slide 24

Slide 24 text

No content

Slide 25

Slide 25 text

Documentation • Now the caseworker can save the report in the "Electronic Case Management System" (ECMS), where the cases are usually stored for at least 5 years • The report is a snapshot of things as they where, when the report was made

Slide 26

Slide 26 text

Types of GeometrySearch reports • There are usually more than 20 different geometrysearch reports to support the case working within: – Nature – Building – Climate – Environment – Road management – …

Case 2: Public announcement

Slide 28

Slide 28 text

Case 2 - Public announcement • The utility company is about to roll out district heating in a settlement and want to contact all property owners, companies and residents in the area • The area is located in Odense • We want to send letters to all owners, administrators companies, and residents • We use our tool, DistributionLists, to generate an Excel file that can be used in thirdparty tools for sending mail or emails

Slide 29

Slide 29 text

Distributionlists Used for hearings regarding plans. The plugin creates a list of – Residents – Owners – Companies – Administrators – Others The list can be imported to third- party applications for sending mails etc.

Slide 30

Slide 30 text

Workflow • First, we select the tool and choose the list we want to export
