Slide 54 text
▪ Start with the master extended private key (xmprv) as root, then
construct a key tree by recursively applying CKD.
▪ Notation is: index of each child key, separated by slashes
CKD(xmprv, i ) := m/i
CKD(CKD(CKD(xmprv,3),2'),5) := m/3/2'/5
CKD(CKD(CKD(xmpub,2),4 ),5) := M/2/4 /5
ND(m/a /b/c)= ND(m/a /b)/c = ND(m/a )/b/c = ND(m)/a /b /c = M/a/b/c
ND(m/a’/b/c)= ND(m/a'/b)/c = ND(m/a’)/b/c but ND(m)/a’ is impossible
▪ xprv allows reconstruction of descendant prv and pub keys
▪ xpub allows reconstruction of descendant non-hardened pub keys
