We have 3 grown up kids between us, one gorgeous daughter in law and our beautiful lockdown kitten, Molly!! Our business is called ’Welcome to Music’ – building confidence and creativity through music. For many years now, we have been composing songs and creating resources for educators to make their job easy and fun! Our goal is to enrich lives through the joy of music - whether it's working with little kids, big kids, adults or those in aged care. To do this we use a multi modal, multi sensory, whole body and Orff-based approach to help make the learning stick! We believe that everyone can be a successful musical participant regardless of age or background.

Melody and music notation Sing, play on a recorder or other instrument Read the traditional music notation Graphic and number notation Introduce the cards for the ‘Melody shapes and symbol notation’ and ‘Chinese number notation’ as jigsaw puzzles comprising 8 cards for each (one for each phrase) which both clearly demonstrate the rhythm and pitch. After lots of modelling from the teacher, each student has a turn to make up their own moves for the B/C/D/E sections – it goes through 8 times. Come out of the circle so you can observe and record their movement improvisation marking 1,2 or 3 besides each name. You may have to play the piece twice one week and again the following week to get through all the students. Video if possible and observe. 2.Playing the melody and rhythm on recorder using the notes DEGA&B (section A or B) - Grades 3 & 4 assessment 1.Movement improvisation Foundation (first year of school), grades 1 and 2 Procedure – There are 8 x section As and section Bs in the piece.
