The message is determined according to the goal, the situation, and the expectation. You should keep it as simple as possible. What is the message in a nutshell? What is the goal of this presentation? Who is the audience? How many people listen to it? Which place is it held? Explain the attraction of your interests to your group members Participants in the presentation seminar 5 people Company’s lounge What do they expect? Want to know who you are I play floor hockey that is the sport for all people including intellectual disabilities. 9

The most important things are logic and empathy. There are some ways to create a story in each concept. What is the story to convey it? Does it offer a logical explanation? Does it generate audience empathy? 1. Are the words defined clearly? 2. Is the logic based on the facts? 3. Can the audience keep it in perspective? 1. Is it derived from your experience? 2. Does it include an effective analogy? 3. Is there any quote from great people? 11

The definition of the word is a base of discussion. If the audience interpret it in a different way, they will lose their ways. Before After I love Amazon. He loves the technology? He loves shopping? Speaker Audience I love Amazon Web Services. Speaker Audience He loves the services! 1. Are the words defined clearly? 12

Argument should be based on the facts such as scientific, financial, and statistical data. 13 * Atlassian FY2016 Annual Report ● We support a lot of customers. ● We are growing rapidly. ● We have a strong cash flow. 2. Is the logic based on the facts? Before After

People can understand things more clearly if you show alternative ways and comparison. 14 3. Can the audience keep it in perspective? Before After Developed Country Developing Country Teenager They cannot use it because of the security. They have no money. Adult They use other apps in each country. They are open to pay via smartphone. Senior They are used to cash and credit card payment. They need help to use it. Personal experience is one of the most powerful tools to attract the audience. 16 “As the kids’ disease slowly ravaged their bodies, we grew increasingly frustrated with the pase and direction of the research. And so we took a risk, a big risk.” * * John Crowley, Chasing Miracles: The Crowley Family Journey of Strength, Hope, and Joy 1. Is it derived from your experience Before After I founded a pharmaceutical company in order to save people who suffered Pompe disease.

If you need to explain a complex concept, analogy helps people to figure it out. 17 2. Does it include an effective analogy? * John Ratey and Edward Hallowell, Delivered from Distraction: Getting the Most out of Life with Attention Deficit Disorder Before After “ADHD is a neurological disorder associated with a pattern of excessive inactivity in the frontal lobes of the brain. It is characterized by distractibility, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.” “ADHD is like having a Ferrari engine for a brain with bicycle brakes. Strengthen the brakes and you have a champion. People with ADHD are the inventors and the innovators, the movers and the doers, the dreamers who built America.” *

The words by legends are impressive. You can quote them to complement the story. 18 3. Is there any quote from great people? Before After “The most powerful person in the world is the story teller. The storyteller sets the vision, values and agenda of an entire generation that is to come.” * * Tomas Higbey, What are the best stories about people randomly (or non-randomly) meeting Steve Jobs?
