Things You Can Do to Build Your Resume ● Capture the Flag Competitions or CCDC ○ NCL, local competitions, and hackathons too ● Work on Specific Skills/Tools ○ Python, Kali Linux, Wireshark, cryptography ● Work Experience ○ On campus IT, lab work, CS dept peer mentor, internships ● Certifications (usually $$) ○ Security+, Network+, UNT certificate, Autopsy

Resume Format ● 1 page only ● .5” to 1” margins ● Without experience, highlight your skills, projects, and education ● Don’t say “I” ● 10-12 size font ● When listing experience put most recent on top

How to Prepare for Interviews ● Research the company ● Look on Glassdoor for interview reviews ● Write out what you would answer for popular interview questions ● Practice coding tests with LeetCode or HackerRank ● Know who you are interviewing with. Are they technical or are they a recruiter?

First Round Interview ● Be friendly and sound/look happy to be there ● Dress professionally if on video ● Understand what the company does ● Have questions for the interviewer ● Be prepared for behavioral questions and short technical questions ● A coding test or logic test may accompany this interview
