1. Nomination - All candidates have to be nominated by either a Googler or an existing GDE. Currently Google does not support open applications. 2. Application - Candidates submit an online form sharing the evidence of their high technical expertise and proven track record of community contributions. 3. Eligibility and capacity check - The Regional Leads and Product Area reviewers look at the submitted application assessing candidate’s eligibility, and regional capacity to accept more people to a particular product category. 4. Community interview - Online interview with a GDE of the same product category that the candidate is applying to. 5. Product interview - Online interview with a Googler - usually a Developer Advocate or a DevRel Engineer from the relevant product team. 6. Legal sign-offs - Signing Terms & Conditions of the program and a Commercial NDA [source] 6 steps
