“On September 29, 2012, we popped up in an alley off of U
Street, NW between 14th and 15th for 3-plus hours of doom and
hilarity. Over the course of the day, around 130 people came to
join us (and even more to watch).”

“The wheelchair icon team spoke to the commissioner on disability in Mayor
Bloomberg's office. The commissioner loved it, and he wants to partner, distributing
the icon throughout NYC. This is just the latest in a series of corporate and civic
teams who continue to approach us and ask what they can do—changing their
signage and beyond. We continue to be surprised that this small street art project
is becoming an official, sanctioned social design initiative.”
