Why did we create the Educator Academy? Given the busy nature of both the personal and professional lives of educators, MetaMetrics wants to offer a diverse range of professional learning opportunities to expand their use of Lexile and Quantile measures. 5 We have more than 30 million students with measures, and we wanted to arm educators with the specific classroom use cases to put those measures to work. The asynchronous nature of these Lexile and Quantile Educator Academy courses provide educators timely access to information, at their convenience, to impact their instructional planning in the classroom and monitor student growth toward our goals for college and career readiness.

9 The Masters of Educational Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (MEITE) program is a professional master's degree program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for students pursuing careers in the educational technology industry. The coursework and collaborative internship allows graduate students to research, design, and assess leading-edge edtech according to the best practices in the industry. How were the courses developed? MetaMetrics partnered with the MEITE program to research, design, and build the Lexile and Quantile Certification Courses. +

17 Completing this assignment made me realize that there were MANY more focus QSCs than I expected. This will really help teachers interpret the standards. Often the standards are very long and vague, but the Focus QSCs break everything down. This knowledge will be very helpful when lesson planning and deconstructing standards. I think that the relationship between the QSC and state math standards are great, because there are often several DOK levels in one standard. That will really help teachers scaffold their teaching!” “I agree that this exercise made me really focus on the depth of just one part of one standard at my grade level. Doing this for every standard would make one much better informed about the standards they are charged with teaching.” “Yes! The break down the Focus QSCs provide is super helpful. Such a useful and helpful resource.”

I have always used Find a Book to discover the Lexile of a known book. I did not realize I could check vocabulary and other information if I clicked on the book. I love that I can get more information about the text to help me scaffold for instruction. I find the vocabulary section extremely helpful now that I know about it. It will save me some time in differentiating the instruction and looking for key vocabulary.” 18
