First of all… What is a drone?  A drone, in a technological context, is an unmanned aircraft.  Drones are more formally known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).  A drone be remotely controlled or can fly autonomously through software-controlled flight plans. 

How Drones are changing the world? 

1. Deliveries  “Amazon Prime Air: a future delivery system from Amazon designed to safely get packages into customers' hands in 30 minutes or less using small unmanned aerial vehicles.”

3. Science  “NASA's Global Hawk drone spent 11 hours collecting data over tropical storm Nadine in the Eastern Atlantic Ocean on Sept. 23, 2013.” 

4. Surveillance  “The US government is using drones to patrol half of its border with Mexico, a report by the Associated Press says.” 

5. Warfare  “Russian surveillance drones have been sighted over parts of Syria where other rebel groups are deployed “ 

6. Human Aid  “An 'ambulance drone' prototype, a flying defibrillator able to reach heart attack victims in precious life-saving minutes”  “Sky Angel is a drone aimed to prevention and rescue at sea. It is able to carry and deliver a buoy to a castaway much faster than currently possible.” 

7. Entertainment  “The prospect of commercial drones hovering over football fields and ski mountains is already a reality – and one that will continue to grow, according to the speakers at SXSW's”
