MOTIVATION & OBJECTIVE ▪ An electrical engineer with over ten years of experience in power sector R&D, and a software/Linux enthusiast hacking away in my free time ▪ A huge gap between software for web dev, etc. and electrical engineering ▪ Software for web dev is booming with open source alternatives constantly in development and competing with each other ▪ Enterprise software for engineering is expensive, has poor performance and is closed source ▪ Felt the need for more open source in core engineering and for core engineers to get involved in open source software
