Which line through the corner is the fastest in our model? A. Inside B. Middle C. Outside 

The Correct answer is B! That was an easy one! Using the equations of motion we calculated that the middle line through the corner was the quickest. 

Why is the middle route through the corner the fastest racing line? A. Smallest distance covered B. Largest possible radius C. There is better grip there 

The Correct answer is B! Taking the middle line maximises the radius of the corner which allows us to travel at the highest possible speed. (C is correct in some occasions as rubber builds up on the racing line during a race making that part of the track, however in our model we assumed that the track had the same co-efficient of friction at all points on its surface). 

In our model which was fastest? A. The Outside Line B. The Inside Line Fun Fact: In the 2016 Chinese Grand Prix there were 161 overtakes, the most in any dry race ever. 

The Correct answer is B! The inside line was quicker in our model by 0.06s an tiny difference considering the car had to travel 8 metres more around the outside line.
