November 1, 2012. 12:00 p.m. PT. The U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC's) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a very popular and well-recognized voluntary standard for green buildings. LEED awards Energy and Atmosphere points for purchases of renewable energy and carbon offsets, acting as a significant driver in the market in the U.S. Updates to the LEED rating systems have recently been proposed, including significant changes to requirements for purchases of carbon offsets and renewable energy. CRS presented a webinar reviewing the current LEED requirements and how these requirements are proposed to change along with the rationale for these changes and how we can expect this to affect the market.
