      <title>The Art of Reading a Journal Article</title>
<description>Reading research publications is crucial to science.
But there are so many papers! Why not use AI to read them?
Because AI can get it wrong!

Reading journal publications is still an essential skill in science research. Even if AI is implemented to speed the process, it's crucial to at least skim the original research paper as validation. Here are some tools to help speed the process!

Based on this publication:

      <title>Citizen Science - Foldit</title>
<description>The following presentation is based on this paper, which looked at how a protein-folding online computer game can be improved as a tool for citizen science:

Koepnick, B., Flatten, J., Husain, T., Ford, A., Silva, D. A., Bick, M. J., Bauer, A., Liu, G., Ishida, Y., Boykov, A., Estep, R. D., Kleinfelter, S., Nørgård-Solano, T., Wei, L., Players, F., Montelione, G. T., DiMaio, F., Popović, Z., Khatib, F., Cooper, S., … Baker, D. (2019). De novo protein design by citizen scientists. Nature, 570(7761), 390–394. https://doi.org/10.1038/s41586-019-1274-4

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31168091/

Citizen science, also called crowd-sourced science, is the involvement of the public in scientific research, increasing the scientific research community's capacity and promoting the public's understanding of science.

Foldit is an online protein-folding simulation computer game where players can create novel proteins and are scored based on the stability of the protein.
