    F & G7 chords ¡ Revise strumming patterns – duck, chicken, swing ¡ Revise finger picking accompaniments (FPA) with TIMR fingers ¡ Introduce TAB – tablature ¡ Finger pick melodies ¡ New songs with actions, movement, body percussion, solfa, and hand signs ¡ Compose and improvise new melodies ¡ New chords – G and D7 New strum – reggae strum ¡ Techniques – rondo form (club sandwich), canon ¡ Revise how to read chord diagrams – G & D7 and chord charts

    Add body percussion – pat knees for C and C7 chords; clap for F chords and tap shoulders for G7 chords ¡ Sing solfa with hand signs ¡ Strum the chords with a chicken strum ¡ FPA with TIMR twice per bar Oh when the ukes Oh when the C ukes, go strumming in, oh when the ukes go strumming G7 in.   5. HOW TO READ & PLAY TAB (TABLATURE) ¡ The first

    string (A) is now at the top (Imagine you put your ukulele flat on a table, strings facing up and head to your left. If you hold the tab grid on top of the fretboard in this way, the strings will match.) ¡ TAB is written on 4 lines (the corresponding strings) with the rhythm and fret numbers (O – open string, 1 – first fret etc) ¡ Left hand – generally 1st finger goes on the 1st fret, 2nd on the 2nd fret and so on ¡ Right hand – use your thumb or TIMR fingers to pick the melody
  6. Work out and finger pick the melody reading the TAB

    Compose – using notes from the C pentatonic scale (C D E G A C) compose your own melody using the same rhythm (words) from the song Improvise – using notes from the C pentatonic scale – improvise your own rhythm and melody over 8 bars Create a rondo form – play the song (A section), compose a new melody using the words (B section), play the song (A section), improvise a new melody AND rhythm (C section) etc. Recorded on Blackbelt Ukulele 2

    (the bread) – is the main part of the piece – usually the song, and is the same each time ¡ B section (cheese) – is different to the A section – usually improvised ¡ A section (the bread) ¡ C section (ham) – is different to the A section AND the B section ¡ A section (the bread) ¡ D section (lettuce and tomato) - is different to the A section AND the B section
