This talk was delivered at Front-End Design Conference in St. Petersburg, FL on June 22, 2013.
In today's web design, we seem to have reached a level of aesthetic saturation. Design has struggled to find happiness in the minimal. We will explore how micro-interactions can bring a sublime sense of happiness to the user. During this talk, we will explore how the nuances of User Interface Design can positively make a user remember their experience. Isn't that what we all strive for as designers? We seek to evoke emotion. By the end of our conversation, we will have examined and come to the conclusion that happiness bears no extravagant and excessive design. Rather, happiness is born out of the microinteractions that tap into the user's psychological emotion.
