Support for Identifying Issues and Formulating Improvement Plans Related to the “2024 Logistics Crisis” Leveraging our experience as training instructors for shipper companies, MCLOGI provided structured support for issue identification and solution planning. Challenge: Difficulty in Understanding the Current Situation • Although the “2024 logistics crisis” is widely discussed, its actual impact remains unclear. • Lack of visibility into what is happening at delivery destinations. • Carriers provide little information, making sudden rate hikes difficult to manage. Solution: Data Analysis and Surveys • Conducted surveys with transport companies to gather firsthand insights. • Analyzed existing internal logistics data in detail. • Reviewed contracts to identify pain points and potential risks. Outcome: Clarified Issues and Prepared Countermeasures • Historical context of the problem was better understood. • Identified waiting times and additional tasks for each delivery location. • Enabled pre-negotiation planning by clearly organizing issues beforehand. Client Feedback︓By identifying gaps in compliance with the government’s guidelines for shippers, the entire organization was able to share a common understanding of necessary improvements. In terms of legal compliance, the company was able to assess whether any practices aligned with past administrative recommendations to shippers and took steps toward proactive improvement. 16 Case Study (1):

©Mitsubishi Corporation LT, Inc. All Rights Reserved. ©Mitsubishi Corporation LT, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Support for Contract Negotiations with Transport Companies Based on MCLOGI’s extensive experience in freight rate negotiations, we provided logical and structured support for a frozen food manufacturer facing rate increase requests from carriers triggered by the “2024 Logistics Crisis.” Challenge: The client understood the issue of driver shortages but was reluctant to accept a rate increase without justification. Before: While we understood the driver shortage, we didn’t want to accept a price increase without scrutiny. • Unsure how to respond, as the request differed from past practices. • No basis to assess the appropriateness of the proposed 10% increase. • Concerned that accepting the terms now would lead to further increases next year. After: Successfully kept the average requested price hike of 10% down to a 3.5% increase. • Engaged in logical negotiations aimed at rate optimization. • Clarified the basis of the rate increase request. • Established transparent reference criteria for future rate adjustments. Client Feedback︓MCLOGI supported us not only in building negotiation scenarios but also by participating in the actual discussions. This allowed us to reach an agreement within the target range set by management. Their approach ensured the negotiations were balanced—not one-sided or based on dominant positioning—and they helped us maintain a constructive dialogue with the carrier throughout the process. 17 Case Study (2):

Joint Delivery Simulation MCLOGI acted as a neutral third party to align stakeholder interests and provide hands-on support. Challenge: A processed food manufacturer faced difficulties in implementing joint delivery operations in the Kanto region: • Collaboration with potential partners was not progressing smoothly. • Lacked a clear method for selecting optimal delivery routes. • Uncertainty over which party held what data. Our Support: MCLOGI provided neutral facilitation and analytical support to coordinate opinions and guide the project forward. • Analyzed data from potential joint delivery partners. • Narrowed down feasible routes by setting phased conditions. • Shared a calculation methodology that clients could apply independently. Outcome: Identified viable joint delivery routes.Out of 82 existing routes for mass retailers in the Kanto area, 13 were selected as joint delivery candidates. • All parties gained a better understanding of joint delivery feasibility. • The client acquired the ability to perform their own simulations. • Data ownership among parties was clarified. Client Feedback︓We realized the project had stalled because both sides were only voicing what's convenient for themselves. Bringing in a neutral third party like MCLOGI made all the difference. Now that we understand how to select routes, we’d like to explore joint delivery options in other regions as well. 18 Case Study (3):

AI-OCR Implementation AI-OCR combines Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology with Artificial Intelligence to recognize and process handwritten and printed characters. MCLOGI provided advisory support and form analysis based on its extensive 3PL operational expertise. Before: Inefficient manual input of handwritten information • Purchase order formats varied by delivery destination • Data entry was performed manually from paper forms to Excel • No linkage to core systems After: Reduced workload and improved operational efficiency • Supported various types of order forms • Received orders via fax, digitized them using AI-OCR • Automatically integrated the extracted data into the core system MCLOGI supported the digitization of purchase orders using digital fax and AI-OCR, enabling seamless linkage with internal systems. Acting as a translator between logistics operations and engineers, MCLOGI helped prevent requirement gaps and ensured smooth implementation. Client Feedback︓The solution addressed concerns about future labor shortages and reliance on individual know-how. Having a logistics expert like MCLOGI involved ensured that system vendors received complete and accurate requirements, resulting in a well-structured solution. 19 Case Study (4):

From Challenge to Solution Before:Uncertainty regarding the ROI of robot implementationLack of materials to explain the initiative to top managementConcerns about operational changesAfter:A roadmap aligned with the company’s mid-term management planRobot selection tailored to operational needsSimulation of multiple layout scenarios enabled Robot Selection and Operational Design From robot type selection and cost simulation to operational design, MCLOGI proposed practical solutions tailored to the actual workflow.
