fund the publication of their own book and hit it off, but that’s rare.
  3. Harms Your Reputation  It is not for everyone, mostly

new authors or beginners avail their services.

author to be accepted by traditional publishers in future.
  5. Can Be Utilized in Positive Way  It works fine

for celebrities and other public influencers.
  6. Poor Quality  Commonly, Vanity publishers takes a heavy “fee”

from authors and leave them with too many poor quality books with nowhere to sell them.
  7. Bad Reputation  Over the years it has gained the

    reputation of scamming naïve authors.
  8. Different Names  Recently, Vanity publishers have branched off into

evolved versions like Print on Demand (POD) and Online Publication.
  9. Wrong Ways  Scams in schools - Vanity publishers often

sponsor creative writing competitions in schools and later ask parents of all the young participants for ‘contribution’ towards getting their child’s creativity published, which was selected ‘on merit’ and will ask them to buy copies of publication for themselves and to give to relative and friends.
  10. No Marketing  They do not offer Editorial or Marketing

services. Author is at his own, once the book is published
