running terribly late for his nightly dance practice. Another teammate, Jojo, can’t make it tonight assuring the team she can practice in the morning. The rest of the team wishes her well yet leaves no excuses for Nino, comparing his inexperience to her skills. In his frustration he doesn’t realize he’s gotten the address wrong for his last package.
but frustrated for a signature he tries the back entrance. Nino recklessly bangs on the fragile glass, shattering it alerting whoever seems to be inside.
is instead met with a manananggal, a vampire severed from the torso up, that attacks him. He lunges into the house to narrowly dodge and the monster descends blocking the exit. Nino is trapped.
is unfazed and cannot be killed through such simple means. His only option is to run to the front door. Putting his dance skills to use what ensues is a chase that goes in time to a rhythm Nino is familiar with, desperately evading the manananggal to the beat.
door the monster drags him to the ground further away from the exit. Nino manages to smack her scrambling up to crash into the closest door he can find.
realizes he’s in the room of a completely ordinary girl. He finds tucked in the bed the severed bottom half of a girl’s torso, the monster’s vulnerable human bottom half. In this moment Nino raises a weapon to kill her, but at the same time he begins to realize who this room belongs too.
Nino how to dance flash through his mind and his weapon drops. This is body belongs to Jojo. Just as he realizes this Jojo bursts through the door tackling Nino.
Jojo prepares to kill Nino. Just before Nino believes he’ll meet his end he desperately calls Jojo by her name. She freezes and they take a moment to properly recognize one another’s face. Initially scared that her secret’s been discovered Nino reassures them both and they slow down to talk frankly, like friends.
to each other tonight. As the sun rises Nino asks if she’d like to catch up on all the dance practice they’ve missed. Jojo takes his hand and in the sunlight she transforms back into a human girl, taking the first step leading him into the dance.
