  1. Who are we? We’re the Electoral Board. We’re the body

that runs the Pupils’ Committee election this year.
  2. What is the Pupils’ Committee? Democratic, non-profit, independent student body

recognised by the administration. Represents the interests of our students.
  3. President The President is the executive of the Pupils’ Committee.

They represent the students directly. They’re also in charge of keeping a functioning Committee. Becoming President is not easy, but neither is being President. Good French is recommended, all the important conseils are in French. Note: you must be at least 16 years old (as of the first meeting) to apply to the Presidency.
  4. Vice President The Vice President is the deputy executive of

the Pupils’ Committee. They replace the President if he/she is absent, and assist them otherwise. They answer directly to the President. Good French is recommended, all the important conseils are in French. Note: you must be at least 16 years old (as of the first meeting) to apply to the Presidency.
  5. Treasurers (2 people) The Treasurers are in charge of the

finances of the Committee. They ensure that we don’t go bankrupt. Good French ability is highly recommended, all the accountants of the school speak French.
  6. CoSup (2 members) CoSup stands for Conseil Supérieur des Elèves.

It’s kind of like a Committee of Committees. Four times a year, the CoSup members attend a meeting (in Luxembourg or Brussels) where they discuss matters that need the involement of Brussels. The President is automatically a third member. Note: you must be at least 16 years old (as of the first CoSup meeting) to apply to CoSup.
  7. Internal Committee (4 members) Internal takes care of anything that

needs to be done internally in the school (posters, room bookings etc.) Four members: Head of Internal, two Poster Designers, one remaining member who assists the Head.
  8. Conseil d’Education (2 members) The Cons d’Ed is a meeting

with the school where educational matters (compo / bac dates, exams, etc.) French is recommended, the meeting is in French.
  9. Conseil Consultatif (2 members) The Conseil Consultatif is a meeting

with the school where technical matters (security etc.) are discussed. French is recommended, the meeting is in French.
  10. Canteen Committee Attends meetings with the school about the canteen.

This involves discussing the canteen with the school administration and Sodexo. Must be able to stand up to adults and say that a proposal is bad (example: last year somebody wanted to remove all the desserts in the Canteen…)
  11. Leisure Committee (five members) Organises parties. Books clubs, sells tickets,

etc. Very demanding but rewarding position. It’s recommended (although not required) that you are 16, since you’ll be working on 16+ parties.
  12. Elections Wednesday 21st September, 11:10, Salle des Fêtes. You need

a speech in which you outline why you’re a good fit for the Committee, how you’re good at your position etc. Speech time limit: two minutes (three if applying to both Leisure and non-Leisure) (keep it concise, no life story please) Class reps vote. The vote will use a yes/no/maybe system.
  13. A few points • Anyone can apply, no matter what

age, section, class rep or not, grades… • We (the Electoral Board) have no influence on the outcome of the election. If we see that someone we don’t like will be elected, we have to let them in. • Once you are elected, there will be a second election internally in the Committee where we allocate roles. You will need two speeches. • Leisure is the exception. Leisure gets voted on directly by class reps, separately from the rest of the PC. However, that does not mean that they are in any way separate from the rest of the Committee. The Committee is still a team, everyone works together.
