  2. 1. The work I have decided to create direct links

to my own interests as I spend a lot of my free time studying Russian history and the language. My personal experience with art is mainly through fine arts and a new passion for mosaics which this project is about 2. Throughout the year I have studied and heavily involved Russian history and its plethora of artists from a research piece on Peter the Great, the Troubles, and Ivan the Terrible to practical work centred around Francesca and Yuri Norstein. 3. Everything from architecture to the colour palettes the style but most of all the clothing is by far the best part to me. 4. Something I have learned is to not be over-committed to a single idea and let my projects be more flexible in their approach
  3. Define and propose. •1. With this project, I want to

come away with a better understanding of History and have a project that manages to incorporate some elements of my passion and have that passion shown through the work itself. •2. I intend to make sure my project succeeds by trying to actively communicate my issues with my teachers and proactively listen to feedback. •3. This will ensure I'm staying on track and my work is continually being reviewed for any missing errors.
  4. Supporting research •1. Artists such as Ivan Bilibin, Boriz Zvorkykin,

and Sofiya Karaffa-Korbut Tatyana Mavrina these artists are of Russian and Ukrainian descent being born and living in their respective locations. •2. Books like Ivan Bilibin's biography, Tales of Tales, and a Moroccan-illustrated book are big reference points. •3. These artists directly relate to their countries as the work they create is always in reference to the place such as clothes, architecture, fonts, weather, and food. It always servers their country •4. I looked into Eastern European fashion and bought books from the aforementioned artists to get a closer look at their work, and translated their written stories that accompany the artwork to have a fuller contextual understanding of their perspective..
  5. Materials and processes. Materials and processes I initially used several

different materials and processes like Mosaics, pen and paper, paint, digital art, and printing. These will be used in harmony with one another to create a more complete project that does not rely heavily upon one or two processes. This approach will give the project a more fleshed out look.
  6. Plans and forward thinking. Plans and forward-thinking. If I plan

on creating a series of paintings then I will need a few things like: • Pen • Paper • Canvas • Paint brush set • Paint preferably gouache or watercolour these are pieces that I need to create a good painting Plans and forward-thinking. If I plan on creating a series of paintings then I will need a few things like: • Pen • Paper • Canvas • Paint brush set • Paint preferably gouache or watercolour these are pieces that I need to create a good painting Plans and forward-thinking. I plan on creating a mosaic then I will need a few things like: • Mosaic tile • Tile nippers • Grout • Disposable gloves • Sponge • large board these are all the necessary elements in making a mosaic
  7. A piece of work that reflects Eastern European style can

be done in a multitude of different formats or maybe even a mixture of them.
