Pay-to-Play Fees Residents Below Poverty Line DOWNSIDES OF PAY-TO-PLAY Pay-to-Play fees vary by state and school, but no matter the location or amount, they disproportionately affect underprivileged students. Scott Grant, a doctoral candidate at Findlay University, notes that students with annual household incomes below $60,000 are already one third less likely to participate in school-sponsored athletics before additional fees are introduced. Once fees are introduced, their effect becomes far more pronounced: BEFORE/AFTER P2P FEES (Athletic participation before/aſter fee introduction) 15 30 45 60 5% Decrease 19% Decrease BEFORE P2P AFTER P2P BEFORE P2P AFTER P2P 51% 46% 34% 15% HIGH-INCOME LOW-INCOME 50 100 150 200 1995 2005 2015 GROWTH OF P2P FEES 200 100 (Amongst representative survey of Ohio Schools) +14 +23 +32 +70 +54

  7. OUR PROGRESS 4 SCHOOLS • 20 STUDENTS 2 YEARS •

12K RAISED OUR STORY Right to Win was created to give students the chance to get back on the field. We raise donations to directly sponsor students who need help with Pay-to-Play fees. If they continue to meet academic goals each year, they will qualify for continued sponsorship until they graduate High School.
  8. “ Students in need of assistance can apply directly to

Right to Win. If awarded, payment will be sent directly to the school’s athletic department in the student’s name.. Selected students will choose an academic goal for the year and if the goal is met the student will continue having his or her fees paid the following year.
