2. What is Rails Girls? Rails Girls is a two-day, free of charge programming workshop for women.! ! It is a fascinating opportunity for joining the world of modern technologies, discovering web development tools and new perspectives, both personal and professional.! ! Rails Girls was founded in Finland in 2010. Since then have been over 140 editions held all over the globe, organised non-profit by some of the best programmers and educators.
3. What happens at a Rails Girls event? 2. Discussions with coaches Coaches can be female or male, but always experts in their field. They will help and explain programming concepts, fighting harmful stereotypes in the meantime. 1. 4. 4. Networking Throughout the workshop the attendees have a chance to interact with the mentors, speakers and make meaningful connections – and a few new friends. 3. Lightning talks As a break from coding, the attendees can listen to a number of short talks, given by guests and sponsors, who share their personal experience with working in tech, exciting and challenging as it is. 5. Rails Girls in Poland The Rails Girls workshops proved to be very popular in Poland. There have been seven Polish editions so far, with the last Warsaw workshop in February 2014 attracting a record number of applications – over 26 for one spot.! ! Now it is time to bring Rails Girls to Łódź.

7. Who are the organisers? In the last year or so she went from being a Rails Girls workshop attendee to coach and now – organiser. Her dream has come true and she works as a Ruby on Rails developer. Not having much to do with programming yet, she works as a SEM specialist and co-organises the Łódź group of Geek Girls Carrots, Marketing Meeting and the Częstochowa barcamp, Aleje.it.
