  1. Christalline Carmel Vidya Bhavan Trust’s CHRIST COLLEGE, PUNE (Affiliated to

University of Pune.) Biannual Newsletter From the Editor’s Desk Another year has passed and so has a year of sweet memories. Every new year we aspire a new vision and accomplish the mission with great enthusiasm, self confidence and faith in God who has always been our guiding spirit and who is showering his plentiful blessings upon us. At the dawn of this new academic year it is with immense pleasure that we present before you our newest venture, the biannual newsletter of Christ college - “Christalline”, which aims at putting forth a detailed picture of the events, competitions and various other activities that the students of the college take part in. Surely this vision enables us to update the vibrations and heart throbs of the campus. We sincerely hope that this newsletter will be instrumental in helping us execute this through your support and encouragement. Striving towards exceeding the expectations of all we also look forward for your valuable suggestions and feedbacks which will always be an impetus for us to improve. As we unfold it, we welcome you all to this new endeavour. Director’s Message Mrs. Deepa Sujith Dept. of English Chief Editor Vol # 1 September 2012 Dear students, teachers, parents and all our well wishers, A very warm welcome to this new academic year 2012-13 As we commence the new year, I would like to express my gratification in fulfilling this envisaged plan- a platform for us to communicate, within a defined frame work – The Christ College newsletter – “Christalline”. I consider communication plays an integral part in the betterment of any institution and hope this newsletter establishes a ground to exhibit the Christ College life. Adhering strictly to our motto “Enlighten to Excel” and following the foot prints of our Patron Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara, we here at Christ College believe a great responsibility is vested upon us as educators of the modern world. Since the inception of this institution in 2007, we have been continuously striving hard to pursue excellence in education along with enlightening the students to appreciate the social, eternal and universal values of life. Education is not merely imparting and gathering knowledge or just sharpening the intelligence, but it should be moulding responsible citizens, creating a consciousness towards a nobler and finer living. In this transmission we motivate and empower our students to explore the principles of life, evaluate their ethical and civic responsibilities and then accept the challenges life has to offer, thus emerging out as true champions excelling in every sphere of life. We believe therein lies the pearl of fulfillment for both the educator and the learner. With this motive we continue to carry on the tradition of mentorship as inspired by Dr. S Radhakrishnan, our former president and great academician who quoted “Education to be complete, must be humane, it must include not only the training of the intellect but also the refinement of the heart and discipline of the spirit.” Looking forward for a wonderful year ahead. A message from the Manager Fr. Dr. Peter Kochalumkal CMI Manager I congratulate you all. May God bless us all. May God bless you. With regards, Director Fr. Dr. Sony Chundattu CMI A word- written or spoken- makes difference in our lives. Language helps us think in a wider perspective and empower ourselves with knowledge. Knowledge is power. Let this power not be hidden in our brains but come out as wisdom, being a gateway to enter into the right path of action. Friends, learn to achieve wisdom, look beyond horizons, live now and make history. ‘Speak good, write good and be good’. I sincerely appreciate the efforts of all those who contributed to make words “visible” through this Newsletter.
