A peak into Sketchnoting...

I am an avid sketchnoter, illustrator and doodlebug. Recently I had a great opportunity to put together a flash talk on the overview of sketchnoting for my Design Office team at Barclays. This quick presentation with my various sketchnoting styles is just my 2 cents. Hopefully it gets you excited to sketchnote! More talks coming soon. Enjoy!

  1. - Do you take a lot of notes or scribble

stuff all the time? - Do you think they are booooring and could do with a bit of fun? - Are you scared that your drawings suck? Worry not! You have the makings of a great sketchnoter!
  2. Although sketchnotes are seen as a visual medium, they do

not really require any drawing ability.
  3. The concept of “drawing in class” has been there since

a long time to improve cognition, understanding and correlation. Sketch notes have stemmed from there.
  4. Some tips to keep in mind ... - No erasers

needed! - Think improvisation. NOT perfection. - Quirky is good - Don’t be a completist - Put your 2 cents in. - Don’t be afraid. Make mistakes. - Inject your personality into the pages and most importantly HAVE FUN! :)
  5. Some artists that inspire me are Eva-Lotta and Mike Rohde.

Sketchnote Army and Doodlelovers are two great communities to be a part of!
