  2. Self Grading . Good art is just art people like.

    It’s not really more complicated than that. .However you will be judging your art base on how close you are to getting into the industry. .100 == wow you should be working in the industry .95= Entry level 94 = Getting animation test 93 = Intern level 65= did the assignment but didn’t understand the assignment I don’t expect you to be entry or Intern level by the end of this course.
  3. 2D Animation .I don’t teach software. .You can repeat these

    assignment in 3D software . . There are free 2D software programs like Pencil. .You can also animate on paper or use sticky notes.
  4. Books All reading will be from these two books. They

    can found online or at your local library (Maybe)
  5. Warm UP .Draw 6-12 Key frames from a shadow puppet

    show or from Die Abenteuer des Prinzen Achmed (The Adventures of Prince Achmed) By Lotte Reiniger . Key Frames: Are the story telling frames / poses of an action. You should be able to understand an action without fluid movement. In-betweens frames: Are between the key frames and make the animation fluid.
  6. Week 1 Reading Reading: Chapter 3 of The Illusion of

    Life by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnson on page 47 (This book can be found online in a pdf format. If you cannot find it check your local library)
  7. Lecturer Squash and Stretch 1.An object at rest will be

    neither squash or stretched unless a force is applied to it. 2.When an object is accelerating, it will stretch 3.A squash is how an object respond to newton third law of motion. When object impact another object, it will squash.
  8. Project 1 Project 1: Film a bouncing ball. Than use

    the video as reference for animation. To make an animation. Please note we are not rotoscoping. This Project must include the following. . Reference . Animation in color . Background . Bounce for points for shadow, highlights and making the ball look like a sphere and not a circle.
