The story follows cyril the kind hearted squirrel going about his everyday picking his favorite acorns in his tree until he begins to witness the fight between two crows and a robin protecting her nest, resulting in one of her eggs being knocked out of the nest and catching onto the mossy branch below, mostly unscathed.
But the mother robin unknowingly flies off with her remaining egg whilst the further main character in this story mavis the baby robins egg is being left behind alone, where cyril the squirrel manages to rescue her and then will begin the raise her, whilst going through some challenges along the way until her mother hopefully returns the following spring.
