Driven by her commitment to uplifting women, particularly those from low-income neighborhoods and challenging environments. Cindy established this initiative to mentor, support, and inspire. Identifying the Challenges Faced by Women Entrepreneurs – Why Women Entrepreneurs Fail Lack of role models Lack of mentoring Lack of business resources Low self- confidence or fear C2 Your Health Women’s Initiative Inc. www.C2YHWI.ORG Source: Entrepreneur.com & Women Livelihood Survey 2022 According to Entrepreneur.com, 70% of women entrepreneurs fail, primarily due to the following reasons: We conducted a “Women Livelihood” survey with 100 women in our community. The results mirrored national trends, with respondents highlighting one or more of these areas. 4. The Solution: Creation of C2 Your Health Women’s Initiative Inc. Focusing on creating connections to: 1. Role Models 2. Mentoring 3. Business Resources 4. Leadership Development 5. Confidence Building Activities Our First Summit (2018): •Attendance: 120 women •Conference Format: A full-day event featuring 25 presenters •Diversity: Approximately 30% Black/African American, 66% Caucasian, and 4% other ethnicities. •Outcome: The summit was a huge success, laying a strong foundation for future events. Established in 2018, C2 Your Health Women’s Initiative Inc. and the Women’s Entrepreneur Summit - Round Tables for Success were designed to tackle the identified challenges. Today - 7th Annual Women’s Entrepreneur Summit Celebrating Milestones & Expanding Community Impact Engaging Program: Featuring 18 dynamic presentations, vendors, before-hours networking, a chef competition and award, graduation recognition for the Women’s Entrepreneur Excellence Program, and after-hours (Sip. Shop. Celebrate.) networking event plus, healthy breakfast & lunch. Advocacy and Recognition: Successfully petitioned the common councils and mayors of Mishawaka, South Bend, Goshen, Elkhart, and the State of Indiana to officially proclaim November 19th as Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, joining a global movement. Summit Scholarship Fund Making the Summit Assessable to All The Women’s Entrepreneur Summit is the only event in Saint Joseph County created and supported by women entrepreneurs for women entrepreneurs. Goal: Ensure every woman can attend the Women’s Entrepreneur Summit, regardless of financial means. Scholarship Fund: We are actively seeking funds to provide scholarships to women who would not ordinarily be able to attend. Accepting Applications: available upon request.
