Paranormal Epidosde 2 *These are two pitched episodes for a possible series of “Cosecha School of the Paranormal” “Cosecha School of the Paranormal” Epidosde 1 Continuing where we last left off; breathless Dan explains the awful sight to Vick - sparks shooting from the rock gravitating off of the new teacher’s desk, energy ricocheting from it. They resolve to sneak in and “borrow” the rock for further “scientific” analysis. The rock is the clue that will expose all! The next afternoon Dan and Vick wait until the hall is dark and alone where even the janitors have re- tired to the basement gloom. They approach the rock in the dim glow of the deserted classroom. Together they struggle to budge it but can’t. Just then the lights come on. “Good evening boys - looking for something I could help you find?” The teacher’s figure loomed. “We got to go! Our Mothers are calling!” “No one will believe you,” Mr. Presnell whispers as they dash past. Telling their moms their frightening story, one mother arranges a parent/teacher conference with the school principal. In the meeting, the teacher admits to super gluing the rock to his desk to prevent just such thievery and what Dan saw to an overactive imagination. The mother accepts the teacher’s story while the prin- cipal assigns both boys detention for trespassing after hours. During the after-school session that follows, the teacher demonstrates the true principle at work, - forget the superglue excuse. The ironate substance from the surface of Jupiter where the gravitational field is stronger makes the rock heavier on earth! His desk serves as a magnetic force field and with a few adjustments the rock can not only be lifted but now spins upward toward the ceiling - and sparks fly! Mr. Presnell repeats, “I told you, no one would believe you.” Dan and Vick cower in awe beneath their desks as pyro display rains down from above… and that NOSE, that singular BEAK begins to glow! It is a few weeks into the new school year; a “welcome back students” banner hangs from the school entrance. Since it is fall themed, Halloween is nearing. Dan attends the journalism club’s first meeting. They speak of the impact of storytelling, taking from real life and talk of how news and radio shows back then (1930’s-50’s) changed the relationship of writer and audience forever. The president of the club will then play the “War of Worlds” radio broadcast of 1938 with video clips of alien crafts, zapping, destroying buildings, and incinerating onlookers. The club president had clearly stated it was not true, but people thought it so. Dan went in with this thought, but left the club feeling paranoid, thoughtful, and afraid. As he walks down the dark hallway, he hears a creepy noise from the science class. He looks in through the crack of the door. All the audience will see is his reaction - not what he sees. Light flashes across his terrified face and a strange noise raising in vol- ume spooks him so much he makes a run for it all the way to his friend’s house. He meets Vick and tells him what he saw. No evidence - just the wild tale - yet Vick trusts his friend completely. And thus, their adventure begins.
