3. MENTAL HEALTH FUNDRAISING ZEPHYR BALL • Zephyr Ball is a charity event organized by young Australians. In 2010, Zephyr supported ORYGEN, an Australian youth mental health organization • As Sponsorship Director, I led a team of four and conceived and implemented new fundraising initiatives that tripled revenue and raised over $10,000 for ORYGEN LEGAL ADVOCACY REFUGEE LEGAL SERVICE • The Refugee Legal Service at the Footscray Community Legal Centre provides free assistance to refugees struggling to adapt to the Australian legal system • As a volunteer lawyer, I counsel clients, negotiate settlements and make court appearances. My proudest achievement was negotiating a settlement for a Sudanese refugee that allowed him to purchase a new car and stay in school COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Zephyr Charity Ball (Sept 2010) 3 MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS SANE • SANE is a non-profit organization that assists people affected by mental illness • As Charity Coordinator for SANE at King & Wood Mallesons (KWM), I have led fundraising initiatives and developed a speaker series to raise mental health awareness at KWM Outside the Victorian Supreme Court
4. SPORTS • Keen fan of sports, particularly Australian Rules Football (AFL), cricket and soccer • Attended cricket and soccer World Cups and Olympic Games • Skier and snowboarder who has “hit the slopes” in 8 different countries • Avid (but not very consistent) golfer • Competitive field hockey player for over 20 years; captained teams at all levels HOBBIES & INTERESTS In action in the kitchen!
