Why to protect a SaaS service • I am using O365 and my data is in the cloud, I do not need to backup my data. o All SaaS providers are susceptible to user mistakes, outages, and malicious attacks o MS talks about a shared responsibility model - customer is responsible for the data o MS have no recovery SLAs or the obligations to support customer’s business continuity requirements. And we’ve heard from analysts about cases reported by customers, whereby MS flatout refused to recover data. o In fact, other SaaS application vendors are moving further away from backup. For example, Salesforce,too has recently announced EOL of their previously available data recovery service.
