  1. 1) Conduct initial assessment of athlete’s injury to provide emergency

    care, decide if they need to see physician for a definite diagnosis 2) Treat the athlete according to injury, including using physical therapy equipment, techniques, and medication 3) Assess athlete’s readiness to play, and provide participation clearance if needed 4) Make sure the injury area is protected, such as tape, bandages, or braces to body parts such as ankles, fingers, or wrists 5) Document and report the progress of the recovering athletes to physicians and coaches
