We encourage you to get a seasonal flu vaccine, wash your hands often with soap and water, and cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when sneezing and coughing.  The MTI I.T. Academy is hosting a garage sale on Friday, Nov. 6 from 7 am—noon in the CenturyLink building at 319 SE Broadway Street in Ocala. All proceeds benefit the I.T. Academy.  Join us for the 34th Annual Marion County Chili Cook-off on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 am—5 pm at the SE Livestock Pavilion. Vote MTI’s Culinary for Best Chili and the MTI RAD Academy for Best Booth! What’s Happening? United Way Week—Nov. 9—12 MTI Celebrates Its Staff Family Access Each year MTI students and staff work together to raise funds for Marion County’s United Way. We start the week with fun dress up opportunities. Each day students can pay $2 to dress out of MTI uniform, or they can pay just $5 to participate in the whole week. Thursday is a Field Day where academies will compete against one another for a chance to win the Academy Wars trophy. Mr. Wohrley will also be serving up a barbeque lunch on Thursday for all those students who have earned certifications this year. Monday, Nov. 9—”Decade” Day Tuesday, Nov. 10—”Super Hero/Disney” Day Wednesday, Nov. 11—”Red, White and Blue” Day Thursday, Nov. 12—”Team” Day and Field Day Congratulations are in order for three fantastic MTI employees. The following members will represent MTI in the 2014-2015 school year in their respective areas:  Teacher of the Year—Mr. Frank Perdomo  Rookie Teacher of the Year– Ms. Samantha Hall  Non-Instruct Employee of the Year— Mrs. Karen Schmidt Are you interested in helping your students stay successful? We have the tool for you. Family Access opened to students and parents on October 21 and instructions went home attached to the students’ 1st quarter report cards. If you would like to have access to your students’ grades, attendance, discipline, test scores and much more, stop by MTI Student Services Monday—Thursday from 7:30 am—5 pm. You will need to bring proper identification to receive your password and log-in.
