  3. In February, 2011 I attended the funeral of Tim, Cut

down in the prime of life, 38 years old, By a severe asthma attack. There was no one there to help him. In addition he was far from any hospital or emergency room. This was in south central Kentucky.
  4. This presentation is dedicated to Tim as a memorial. He

probably could have saved himself from dying if he had known this simple first aid technique for asthma with hope that it will saves lives in the future. It saved mine 4 times. More on that later.
  5. Do you know of people who died from acute asthma

attack? Do people usually have an asthma attack in a doctor's office? In the emergency room? Or elsewhere?
  6. A report released this year by the Kentucky Cabinet for

Health and Family Services shows rates of adult and childhood asthma in Kentucky are higher than the national average.
  7. A simple technique easy to learn easy to do for

emergency first aid/care of the self or others experiencing breathing difficulties.
  8.  No special equipment is needed.  Many people know

of CPR  This is not CPR. It is far easier to learn, to do and should become widely known for use in emergency situations.  It can be taught to children.
  9. Change of diet required? No, this is a separate issue.

Better housekeeping required? No, this is a separate issue, also.
  10. First though let's talk about Auricular therapy Ears are easy

to access and look a bit like sea shells. Nearly everybody has them! Ears are abundantly supplied with nerves to the rest of the body.
  11. Auricular Therapy is mostly used as acupuncture, electro-therapy or cold

(red) laser therapy to well-established points in the ear. It is used in a way that both locates where the problem is and uses that point for relief.
  12. Example: if someone has pain in the sciatic region, there

is a point for that and the point will be very tender to pressure (acupressure) or an electro-detector/stimulator. I've used this point on myself and it worked very well and quickly.
  13. On the internet one can find many references to auricular

therapy. One especially good one is Terry Oleson's book, now in its third edition. Plus his very thorough charts. An early researcher/publisher on the subject in the Western world is Paul Nogier, a Frenchman.
  14. Acupressure can be used to obtain rapid satisfactory results. There

are several ear point I call one-point wonders in the ear and the point for Soothing Asthma Technique is one of them.
  15. I have used this technique with complete confidence on myself

multiple times. It did indeed work rapidly to relieve my unprecedented severe attacks around the age of 57. I've had no attacks since then (12 years) and have had no other treatment for it.
