An idea to use technology to reduce time/paper waste in Infosys Mysore Food Courts.

3. Waste of paper 䡦 Paper roll size = 150 mm X 70 mm 䡦 Avg number of rolls used per food court = 18 䡦 Total paper used = 189000 sqmm/day/FC
4. Productivity Impact 䡦 Lunch ! Avg time for choosing dish and taking coupon = 9 mins ! 88% employees don’t bring food from home ! Man hours for deciding what to eat ▪ 9 * (.88 * 4000) = 528 hrs 䡦 Evening Snack ! Avg time for deciding & taking coupon = 4 mins ! 76% employees go regularly for snacks ! Man hours for deciding what to eat ▪ 4 * (.76 * 4000) = ~202 hrs
5. Productivity Impact contd… 䡦 Dinner ! Avg time for deciding & taking coupon = 2 mins ! 22% employees eat dinner in campus ! Man hours for deciding what to eat ▪ 2 * (.22 * 4000) = ~30 hrs 䡦 Total 760 (528+202+30) hrs. 䡦 That’s 84 man days per DC per day wasted in deciding what to eat and getting coupons.
