  1. Build, Ship, Run Docker is an open platform for building,

shipping and running distributed applications. It gives programmers, development teams and operations engineers the common toolbox they need to take advantage of the distributed and networked nature of modern applications.

  5. Designers & Developers? There are real-world applications for you to

use Docker to streamline your workflow. • DevOps • System Networking/Setup • QA/CI
  6. Install the toolbox A basic Mac or Windows installer that

guides you through the process of installing Docker. Once finished, you will be presented with the option to use the command line interface (CLI) or Kitematic application to create your containers.
  7. Management Sometimes it’s easier to learn on something you can

see in real time. Your first docker experience should be setting up a way to manage containers.
  8. Local development CMS With a simple command you can be

working on a new CMS theme in seconds. Install $ docker run --name wp-dev --link wp-mysql:mysql -d wordpress • Ensures you never have to install again. • Worry about differences in the environment.
  9. What about multi-site? 2 Ways You can run WP Network(s)

on docker, or you can run many single sites with a master site running MainWP for remote management of internal & external WP instances. Or of course mix and match what works for you.
  10. Production You will want to find a host that you

can deploy to using docker. Very few have that capability, but the ones that do seem to be good.
