We also reveal other details on GoT season 8, including how and where to see it. Read on.
When does Game of Thrones year 8 start?
It will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic in the UK from 2am BST Monday 15 April 2019.
As with previous years, we expect the series to also take up the 9pm time slot on Sky Atlantic later that day also.
We anticipate the rest of the episodes to be available in the exact same time slots every week, with Sky likely to simulcast each episode of the entire series at 2am every Monday morning like it did with 7.
Exactly how many episodes are there in year 8?
Unlike previous series, there'll just be six episodes in total for its final season.
And that is that (apart from the twist off prequel series that's been officially greenlit by HBO for a while later on ).
Where can you watch it?
Apart from the ever decreasing pirate community, the series will likely be available to watch in the United States and UK through the following:
HBO, HBO Go and HBO Now are the official channels to watch Game of Thrones series live stream online from your home.
As HBO makes the show, it screens it in the US. That means it is available on all of the station's subscription services - the primary HBO channel for TV audiences, through the HBO Go programs and platforms for present HBO subscribers, or HBO Now for those who don't pay for the main station. The first installment will display at 9pm EDT on 14 April, as detailed previously.
All of its on demand services will supply the show as catch-up content.
A HBO subscription is generally offered as a premium service by cable providers in the States, costing around $15 a month to add to an existing package. HBO Go is a free service for subscribers to the TV station. HBO Now is for all those who don't have cable TV but still want access to the channel.
HBO Now also costs around $15 per month. There are HBO Currently apps for a wide array of devices, such as iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Android TV and Roku.
Sky+ and Sky Q
Sky only screens HBO content in the united kingdom, therefore has the rights to year 8, albeit with ads.
It will appear on Sky Atlantic, simultaneously displayed with each HBO screening. Fans will consequently have the ability to see the premiere at 2am BST on 15 April.
All episodes are also screened within an evening time slot of 9pm on the station the day after the US airing. With season , another repeat revealing happened at 11.20pm each Tuesday so it's highly possible the exact same will happen with season 8.
Sky+ and Sky Q subscribers will have the ability to watch them live, record them (with series link) or catch up with each episode on demand, as long as they have their set-top-box connected to the web.
