  1. 3.* The Lord of the Rings is composed of 6

"books", aside from an introduction, a prologue and 6 appendices. The complete novel was originally published as 3 separate volumes over the course of a year from 29 July 1954 to 20 October 1955, thus creating the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The work was initially intended by Tolkien to be one volume of a two-volume set, the other to be The Silmarillion (the idea was dismissed by his publisher). What was the reason for the splitting of LoTR into 3 volumes?
  2. 4. The world's first championship for X was held in

Budapest in 1982, with a total of just 19 participants. The sport lost steam after that and was revived in the 2000s with the advent of internet and youtube. The second World Championship was organized in Toronto in 2003, with more than 80 participants taking part. Which sport?
  3. 8. Identify X - “A lot of people were pretty

negative,” he recalls. “They would say, “this is stupid. Why are you adding all of this extra junk in your tweets? Twitter is ugly already and you’re not helping the problem”. - X are for nerds. That stuff is never going to catch on,” Messina recalls six years later. “We’re going to build algorithms, we’re going to figure it out, and you won’t have to use X at all. We got it covered.” - It began with Twitter but eventually, I started to use X in my texts, emails, and even my Google Doc titles
  4. 10. Which is the only SI unit that is still

directly defined by an artifact rather than a fundamental physical property?
  5. 13. A common misconception is that the term X is

short for Y. This is not the case. X is simply a trademarked term meaning IEEE ___. The false notion that the brand name X is short for Y has spread to such an extent that even industry leaders have included the phrase Y in a press release. You'll also find references to X being short for Y on a number of well-known and respected technology-focused publications and websites. The truth is, X isn't short for anything — and it never was. The X Alliance used the "nonsense" advertising slogan "The Standard for Y" for a short time after the brand name was invented, leading to the misconception that X was an abbreviation. Give me X

  7. 18. Eric Schmidt asked Obama how to sort 1 million

integers as a laugh line, but Obama shocked him by answering "I think the X would be the wrong way to go."
