Born in 1962 and raised in Clarksville, Texas, Charles Reed Cagle has always maintained a solid connection to his roots despite his career taking him to various locations. He has been married to his wife, Donna, for over 30 years, and they have a son who is now an adult. In 1999, the family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, but they returned to Plano, Texas, in 2017, where they currently reside.
Charles Reed Cagle began his career in 1986 as an associate at Kinlaw Oil Corporation. His interest in the industry increased, and he dedicated himself to learning every facet of the business. His hard work and commitment led to several promotions, eventually assuming roles with significant responsibilities. After a decade with Kinlaw, he decided to pursue his business ventures.
In 1996, Charles Reed Cagle left Kinlaw and established his own company in Dallas, Texas. The following year, he founded Heartland Energy Inc., which later became known as HEI. As president and CEO, he collaborated with joint venture partners and engaged with a variety of professionals in the energy sector, including operators, drilling contractors, engineers, geophysicists, and service companies. His company focused on sponsoring and exploring ventures in gas, oil, and mineral sites.
In 2006, Charles Reed Cagle expanded his involvement in the oil industry by partnering with Midcontinent Drilling. He financed and supervised the construction of a 2000-horsepower drilling rig capable of reaching depths of up to 20,000 feet, marking his entry into the drilling service side of the industry.
By 2011, Charles Reed Cagle had ventured into the mining industry, with projects in both the U.S. and South America. He began by acquiring a mining concession in Oregon, which produced over 89,000 ounces of gold. In Chile, he became involved in the funding and daily operations of a gold and copper processing facility in Copiapo. One of his significant contributions was developing a proprietary process to remove and neutralize toxic substances from liquids while recovering precious metals. This technology, currently utilized in Copiapo, holds potential for global application in the mining sector. Charles Reed Cagle views this innovation as a critical advancement that could benefit mining operations worldwide.
